Laurence Stark

Acrobatics

Laurence Stark was born in London and studied dancing, trampolining and gymnastics from 11 years of age. He started working professionally at 14 and continued working his way up in the industry to become a West End dancer in the early 1990′s.

Musicals include the original cast of ’Cobacabana’ at the Prince of Wales Theatre and ‘Grease’ at the Dominion Theatre and he also performed in the Laurence Olivier Awards at the London Palladium among many other West End appearances. On moving to Sydney in 1996 he performed with Kylie Minogue as her backing dancer at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony and at the Capitol Theatre. He also performed with Opera Australia at the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne State Theatre in ‘Carmen’, ‘Lucia di Lammermoor’, ‘Cunning Little Vixen’ and ‘Orpheus in the Underworld’.

His dance and acrobatic skills have led him to perform in many commercials, pop videos, fashion shows and awards nights including the Helpmann Awards at Star City. He was also a featured tapper in the movie ‘Bootmen’ and a backing dancer for Vanessa Amorosi at Fox Studios. He ended his performing career traveling the world on cruise ships and is now an acrobatics teacher and show producer based in Sydney.
